Meet Jerry Derr

I discovered the lap steel guitar in 2016, and it quickly became my musical voice. Since then, I've had the pleasure of sharing its warm, expressive sound with audiences throughout Colorado at weddings, community events, senior living communities, farmers markets, hotels, and private celebrations.

While the lap steel guitar is often associated with Hawaiian music, its beautiful, singing tone lends itself just as naturally to timeless standards, classic pop, vintage country, movie themes, and elegant wedding music. Along with my acoustic Weissenborn guitars, it allows me to create a distinctive musical experience that many guests are hearing for the very first time.

I believe the best background music adds warmth and beauty to an event without ever competing with conversation. Whether guests are celebrating a wedding, enjoying a cocktail hour, browsing a farmers market, or gathering with friends and family, my goal is to create an inviting atmosphere that complements the occasion and lets the event itself shine.

Every performance is supported by professionally produced backing tracks, creating the rich sound of a small ensemble while preserving the intimacy and flexibility of a solo performer.
